Ashif Dhanani, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Strategist for Refinery
Lab, launched the company in 2015 to utilize the latest digital transformation
strategies to drive revenue for non-technical companies around the
world. Dhanani has more than 20 years of experience expanding global
markets, enhancing the customer experience, creating demand generation
and driving revenue. To date, Refinery Lab has helped launch more than
20 start-up companies in three continents.
Dhanani began his career in the oil and gas industry, focused on the
graphical user interface for seismic processing. Much of his energy
career was spent at Sun Microsystems where he was one of the first
software engineers in Canada to lead the company’s marketing efforts.
There he introduced new service offerings and channel programs that
grew revenue from $300M to more than $1B in 3 years. He later headed
the team responsible for developing the world’s first cloud storage
and computing offerings. Dhanani also spearheaded marketing for Voxeo,
now Aspect Software, and then spent 6 years as the Chief Marketing
Officer for a publicly traded company in Australia with annual revenues
of more than $2B. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University
of Calgary.
After identifying a major gap in the retail sector, George-Alexandre Hanin, CEO & Global Partnership Director of Mobilosoft, used his engineering and mobile marketing expertise to revolutionize location-based marketing for retail and restaurant operators. Launched in 2010, Mobilosoft allows those with multiple locations to quickly and easily update customer information responsible for driving in-store traffic on apps like Google Maps and Facebook from a single platform. The solution is now used by hundreds of brands throughout five continents.
Capitalizing on the European market’s smartphone adoption, Hanin helped
the industry move toward mobile-oriented websites by creating the first
CMS (content management system) that generated mobile retail websites
in less than 30 minutes. He began his career as a business development
manager at Altran, an international engineering firm. Hanin gained
digital experience as a consultant for Deloitte, where he implemented
CRM (customer relationship management) platforms like Salesforce and
Siebel; he then served as an account manager at Actito, another well-known
CRM. Hanin earned a Master in Business Engineering from the Louvain
School of Management.
